Standard Track Lighting
Before installing track lighting, you must choose what type of track you want and the layout you prefer.
Once this is accomplished, you will need to purchase track heads and components that fit your track. The fixtures themselves will be compatible with low voltage or line voltage. Line voltage is the standard household voltage in the U.S. – 120 volts in the US. Low voltage fixtures utilize less electricity and require a transformer to convert the line voltage to the desired low voltage. The transformer will become the connection to the track. It is possible to have a large number of fixtures on one track as long as the total wattage for the track is adhered to.
