Since bollard lights need to be placed all along the length of the walkway, pathway or driveway, the cost of operating these lights may become prohibitive. With the help of the LED lamps this problem is overcome. The maintenance and electric costs can be brought down with using LED driven bollards. The use of LED bollards helps reduce the operating expenses drastically over the life of the lights. LED bollards usually give off light from the top or the sides and serve as a great solution for outdoor way finding and for safety around outdoor walking areas.

In the field of outdoor decorative lighting, LED bollards make their presence felt by virtue of their unique designs and shapes. LED bollards are mostly made of metals or other sturdy materials with the area around the bulb covered with glass or transparent plastic to allow light to filter through. The stand may be designed, painted or otherwise decorated to improve the aesthetic appeal of the light structure. LED bollards are typically spaced out evenly and alternated on both sides of the pathway so as to impart uniform light. The bulbs or the covering glass may be colored.
