In Ground Low Voltage Transformers

In ground low voltage transformers as the name indicates are low voltage transformers that are set in the ground below grade in order to be concealed from view and therefore provide a clean installation to the visitor eye. It is critical that in ground transformers are built well and are well sealed against any penetration of water or humidity.

In ground low voltage transformers come in various wattages from 100W and up to 600W and even higher. All the wiring is done under the ground via special inlets to the transformer body.
Many LED fixtures that are designed for landscape lighting operate at 12VAC. The output of most regular in ground landscape lighting transformers is 12VAC and with the increase in LED lighting usage in outdoor lighting there is a great use for these transformers.

Plan to mount the transformers in central locations in order to maximise the amount of lights that are closest to the transformer and therefor minimizing drop of voltage. This will also help reduce cable size and length.
