From the time it was established in 1996, the name Bacchus has been capturing the essence of Mardi Gras and the flavor of the Carneros wine country, as the name suggests. Bacchus Glass was established by master glass blower Frank Cavaz and Julie Carcione Cavaz, both MFA graduates from the Rhode Island School of Design, Frank in glass and Julie in painting. Though Frank and Julie set up the company in New Orleans, their designs retained the flavor of their hometown – Sonoma. At the outset, Bacchus Glass began designing and producing giftware for sale at top retailers nationwide. In 1999 Bacchus moved to an expanded facility to produce custom lighting for American manufacturers. By 2004, Bacchus had launched a signature line of hand blown glass lighting that was very well received and they continue to create unique illuminated sculptures for commercial and residential clients worldwide.

Using fine artisan glassmaking techniques, each Bacchus glass lighting piece is handmade in the studio.
