Bacchus Glass Studio lies right in the midst of the wine growing area of Carneros in the state of California. Bacchus Glass was established by graduates from the design school at Rhode Island–Frank Cavaz and Julie CarcioneCavaz, who specialized in MFA. While Frank graduated in glass design, Julie specializes in painting. Though Frank and Julie set up the company in New Orleans, their designs retained the flavor of their hometown – Sonoma. At the outset, Bacchus Glass started off by developing giftware for sale at premium retailers. By the fag end of the twentieth century, Bacchus Glass relocated to a larger facility in order to manufacture custom lighting. By 2004, Bacchus Glass had launched its own string of lighting made of hand blown glass, which was well received. Bacchus Glass Lighting continues to create unique light sculptures for residential and commercial clients all over the world.
Every one of the glass lighting pieces from Bacchus is made by hand in the studio using traditional glassmaking techniques known to artisans and appreciated by connoisseurs of the art.
