That is not all the George Nelson Ball Bubble Wall Sconce is so exquisitely crafted that its beauty and ethereal qualities have been recognized by the Museum of Modern Art in New York, where it has been placed as a part of the museums permanent collection.
The wall sconce is designed using steel wire to form the outline, which is then draped with a covering of spun acrylic of semi-transparent quality to impart a subtle lighting effect. This is supported by a 2 thick solid walnut wall-mount which extends into a 14 long steel arm of brushed nickel finish.
The George Nelson Ball Bubble Wall Sconce uses an A19 bulb of up to 150 watts capacity and can run on universal voltage making it equally effective anywhere across the globe. The unit can be switched on and off by an adjustable plug-in cord suspended from its bottom and held in place with a counterweight.
Modernica has reinvented this period piece and is making it using the same materials which were used in its original production run in 1952, to maintain the authenticity of the initial George Nelson Ball Bubble Wall Sconce.
