The Hinkley Lighting 16022MZ Hardy Island Path Light Landscape Matte Bronze is a heavy duty solid cast brass path lighting fixture with a matte bronze finish, using low voltage of 12 volts to power a bi-pin bulb of 20 watts. Since the 16022MZ Path Light of Hardy Island series uses low voltage, it has to be connected to a low voltage outdoor transformer to convert the domestic line voltage of 120 volts to low voltage. These low voltage transformers make a buzzing sound when activated, which can be minimized by the use of dimmers. For path lights in gardens, walkways, outdoor entryways and pathways, such as the 16022MZ Path Light of Hardy Island series, it is better to connect a timer to schedule the turning on and off timings of the lights. This will ensure that the lights turn on only in the evenings and avoid wastage of electric power by being accidentally switched on during the daytime.
